Management Team

Prior to starting AccountNow, Tim was one of the founders of the online credit card pioneer, NextCard. Serving as Chief Operations Officer, Tim scaled operations to support company growth from start-up to over 1,200 employees in three years.

Tim also was President and CEO of GE Capital Consumer Card Company, where he headed operations for Consumer Financial Services, a credit card division of GE Capital. Prior to joining GE, Tim held numerous roles across the operations group at Providian. He began his career at Citicorp as a manager of a collections group.

Tim has a BA in Social Ecology and an MBA with an emphasis in Technology and Entrepreneurship from the University of California, Irvine.

Matt has been instrumental in many areas of AccountNow's successes, notably securing venture capital for the successful Series A funding, scaling a customer-satisfying service center, and creating a proprietary money load system.

Prior to founding AccountNow, Matt served as Vice President of Operations for NextCard, where he oversaw card operations. During his tenure there, Matt was responsible for online sales, fraud and servicing application operations-wide. He also was a member of the Equifax Risk Advisory Board for his innovative work in identifying and fighting online fraud.

He began his financial services career at Providian Financial, where he held various management roles over a nine-year period.

At GreenPoint Mortgage Funding, Dave was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where he significantly raised the competencies of the company’s finance, accounting and analytics groups, making the company attractive for sale, first to North Fork Bank (NYSE: NFB) in October 2004, and then in turn, by Capital One Financial (NYSE:COF) in December 2006.

Dave held several key management positions over a 16 year career at Providian Financial, culminating with his role as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer. Among his many achievements at Providian was managing the financial elements of a spin-off of Providian Financial to create an independent public company.

Dave began his financial services career at Ernst & Young, after receiving a BS in Business Administration, Accounting Emphasis from the University of San Francisco.

Dave is kept very busy outside of work with his wife and three young children.

A native New Yorker who's adopted the Bay Area of California as his home, Paul has spent the last thirteen years on a mission to develop easy-to-use financial services and software. Prior to AccountNow, Paul spent seven years at Intuit, the nation’s most admired software company as voted by readers of Fortune Magazine. He most recently was instrumental in helping to lead the $1.4 billion acquisition of Digital Insight, as Vice President & General Manager. Paul was also the General Manager of the QuickBooks Online Edition and Director of the QuickBooks Merchant Services product line.

Paul also spent six years at American Express where he helped launch Amex's first Gift Card program, among other roles. He is also an inveterate entrepreneur, having founded three companies before the age of twenty five. Paul has an Information Technology MBA from New York University. When not working or being with his family, he tinkers with an endless supply of gadgets, his iPhone, or watches The Wire.

Before AccountNow, Greg was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at ECapital Financial Corporation, where he was responsible for all marketing related activities. Greg held several key executive positions at Providian Financial Corporation, serving as Senior Vice President of Providian’s US online business and as Executive Director of its UK business.

Before beginning his career in the financial services industry, Greg served four years as a military officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers, with a tour of duty in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Greg holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Over the past 22 years Simon has worked at emerging and publicly traded wireless telecommunications and technology companies both in the U.S. and in Europe. Most recently he served as Vice-President of Engineering at Goodmail Systems, Inc., a provider of trusted email services. Prior to that, he ran a software and consulting company for 8 years, and counted France Telecom, Orange, Pacific Bell and Bell Atlantic among his clients. In 1994 Simon was one of the co-founders of Aethos Communication Systems, the company that pioneered the growth of prepaid mobile phone usage in Europe prior to its sale to Logica CMG PLC.

Among his achievements, Simon helped design the world’s first GSM customer care and billing system during his tenure at Racal Vodafone, PLC.

Simon studied business computing at the Gloucestershire College of Arts & Technology in the UK.

Since arriving in 2007, Rene has developed the Company’s Human Resources presence, instituting innovative procedures, training, and assessment tools, while redesigning the employee benefits program.

Prior to joining AccountNow, Rene was Director of Human Resources at Intera Group, Inc., a telecommunications company in Pleasanton, CA. She’s also held HR positions in several smaller companies in the Bay Area.

Rene holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She graduated from California State University, Hayward with a BA in Human Development.

Since her arrival at AccountNow in 2004, Shelly has been charged with building proprietary systems to manage fraud, overdraft and the company’s anti-money laundering policies.

Prior to joining AccountNow, Shelly held executive positions at established financial services companies, including NextCard, in San Francisco and First Data Resources in Omaha, Nebraska. She began her career in 1987 at Providian, Inc., where she developed her extensive knowledge of the Credit Card industry and the TSYS card processing platform during a 12-year period.

Shelly received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the California State University of Sacramento.
